X-files, an important contemporary television franchise, will return with a new production. So announced its creator, Chris Carter. During the commemoration of the thirtieth anniversary of the series, Carter went through a podcast in which he explained part of the new project. The most relevant detail is that he heads it ryan cooglerwho comes from directing the saga of Black Panther in it Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The first episode of X-files it premiered on September 10, 1993. That initial season had a total of 24 chapters and it is estimated that it was seen, on average, by 11 million people. After this, there were ten more seasons and two movies. Before Chris Carter’s announcement, the last that could be seen of the production premiered on March 21, 2018.
Chris Carter explained that the new project will not only have Ryan Coogler as director, but will also feature a renewed cast. Judging by this, it’s likely a relaunch of the franchise. X-files. Although it is not yet clear in what format it will arrive.
What did Chris Carter say
about X-files?
Chris Carter brought to television the story of a couple of FBI agents dedicated to exploring paranormal events. Throughout the chapters, the characters played by David Duchovny and gillian anderson They followed a series of clues to reach a conclusion. The pulse of the episodes was marked by suspense and the fascination of many people for what is beyond logic.
The creator, who at the time referred to himself as “a non-religious person, but interested in living religious experiences”, brought this idea to his series. He did it to the point of turning it into a cult production for several generations, regardless of the fact that, over time, it was wearing out. Thirty years after the start of that journey, Chris Carter went through the podcast on the coast, conducted by Gloria Macarenko. In this program he said the following, in relation to X-files:
“I just spoke to a young man, Ryan Coogler, who is going to take up X-files with a diverse cast. He has a lot of work ahead of him, since we cover a lot (through the 11 seasons) ”,
Reviewing the development of his series on the podcast, Chris Carter recalled that one of the strengths of X-files it was the conspiracy. But now the world is full of conspiracies. That’s why I think that today it should be different.”
Thus, Ryan Coogler will take the reins of a franchise that was canceled in 2018. He will do so with a good reputation behind him, taking into account that his work as director of the saga Black Panther has been celebrated. In this same vein was his work in believethe first installment of the saga starring Michael B Jordan.
So far, no release date has been announced or who the new cast members could be for X-files; nor if this new project will be another season or a movie. Given Coogler’s profile, it’s likely the latter, a feature film. However, there is nothing confirmed in this regard.
