After its introduction in October in its version for smartphones, the Google Meet beauty filters finally arrive on the desktop. And it is something that, surely, more than one was waiting for, since it is a function used in rivals such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
And, in fact, it's not something that Mountain View has announced with much fanfare either. but it will be there to make life easier and your face more beautiful to those who decide to use it.
Google Meet: beauty filters for everyday life
“Portrait retouching can be used to lightly retouch your appearance before or during a meeting, helping you feel more comfortable and confident with your appearance during video calls,” they explain from Google.
The function is available within the usual retouching effects in Google Meet (where you blur the background and add other filters), in the Appearance section. There, you can select between two different types of beauty filter for Google Meet: subtle and smooth. Neither will make any radical changes to your image, but chances are it will be enough to eradicate those Monday morning dark circles.
There is one catch, though: the feature, which is still being rolled out, is available only to subscribers of Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Starter, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Education Plus, Teaching & Learning Upgrade, Google One and Google Workspace Individual. Therefore, you will have to have one of these plans to be able to use it.
