Lidl is one of the supermarkets that has committed the most to offering products suitable for vegans in all its establishments. This chain offers brands with 100% vegetable options like Vemondo and Vegan Feel on a regular basis.
Christmas sweets are one of Lidl’s specialties. For this reason, during the month of December they have added an arsenal of nougat, shortbread, sweet bread and chocolates on their lines. For those who do not consume meat or derivatives, Lidl has presented products suitable for the veggie public, labeled with the “V for Vegan” or the “VG of Vegetarian”.
We have compiled a selection below that is not meant to be an exhaustive list of all products, but rather those notable 100% vegan ones that have the potential to be a hit on the Christmas table. Each product is verified by the popular website Vegan by Accidente Spain, in charge of compiling the plant-based offer of the main supermarkets in the country. Here you can see the ingredients, nutritional information and others of all the items.
Of the nougatthe coconut and the dark chocolate with almonds of the DOR brand have the approval. In the first case, the grated coconut (50%), sugar, glucose and fructose syrup, water and preservatives prevail. While the dark chocolate is made from 70% bitter cocoa, cocoa paste, sugar, almonds (30%), sunflower oil, hazelnut paste and artificial aromas. With a similar grammage, none exceeds 2 euros per unit. As for their nutritional quality, they are rich in sugar and saturated fats, so their consumption should be moderate.
Moving on to the area of chocolateswe find those of the Favorina brand in its three flavors: dark chocolate and its variant with salt and orange. On sale in bulk, all three are marketed at €0.14 per unit. Ideal as gifts for fans of intense chocolate, they are prepared with 70% bitter cocoa, but be careful that they contain a large amount of sugar.

Lastly, in the case of the prepared pastrieswe find the stollen of Favorina. Also Known As German Christmas sweet bread, it is a bread made from wheat flour, raisins and marzipan with the addition of candied fruit peels, glucose and fructose syrup, water, stabilizers and preservatives. Particularly due to its very spongy texture, it is an interesting alternative to add to the Christmas table for less than 4 euros per 750-gram unit.
