WhatsApp continues to improve its app, and after the new privacy options and from bringing desktop features to mobile, it is now improving the behavior of deleted messages. And it is that as the option to delete messages is configured, many users get confused when doing “tap” and, instead of deleting a WhatsApp for everyone, they delete it only for themselves.
This means that, once deleted by confusion, it cannot be deleted again for everyone, leaving many embarrassing situations. Now WhatsApp wants to change the behavior of this system, so that it is going to offer the possibility of undoing the possibility of deleting a message, especially when we do it out of confusion.
The latest beta version of iOS for Android already includes the ability to undo a deleted message. That is to say: from now on, if the user deletes a message for himself when he wanted to delete it for everyone, you can restore it and repeat the delete option again.
It’s not a major functional change to the app, but it’s certainly a great way to avoid embarrassing situations, especially when deleting a message completely loses the delete option for everyone.
WhatsApp will allow you to restore accidentally deleted messages
As you can see in the screenshot above these lines, property of wabetainfowith this option a new bar appears when an attempt to delete a message to you is detected: In this case, you have a few seconds to recover the message if you previously wanted to delete it for everyone.
And the key is “a few seconds”, since the application only a very small window to restore the message. That is to say, it is an emergency system to be used just when deleting a message.
At the moment, this functionality is limited to the beta of WhatsApp for Android, and it is not available to everyone. If you have the latest beta installed, but it’s not available yet, you’ll have to wait. For the rest, it will come as WhatsApp thoroughly tests the system and is sure that it works as it should.
