The company Typical Sweets The Blessedbased in El Burgo de Osma (Soria), is dedicated to the invention of sweets that pass for traditional.
Responsible for the sweets that are sold in souvenir shops around Castile and Leon –like the torta del beato, the gamusinos or the nun’s teats–, the bakery made headlines last year for launching chocorrezno, a successful mix of chocolate and torrezno from Soria.
It is not surprising, therefore, that for this Christmas they have launched to make torrezno nougat. As the company’s manager and ideologue explains to DAP, Carlos Paris, they have released it “quickly and late”, and they thought that it would only be known in Soria, because the distribution of nougat in the large chains already closes in September. but it has been a success as soon as it hits the market. “In these two or three weeks that we have released it, we are going for more than 3,000 sold,” explains París. “He’s liking it a lot.”
White, black and with milk
And what is he wearing? 7.5% Torrezno de Soriawhich, as in the chocorrezno, brings crunchiness and a certain saltiness to the nougat, whose main ingredients are actually chocolate and hazelnut praline.
“By doing it with a very high percentage of almond praline it gives it an almond flavor that is incredible”, explains París. “There are people who have ordered from us in the online store and have bothered to call to tell me how good it is and they have bought again. It is one of the signs that we have found something good”.

The nougat is available in three flavors, all with torrezno, of course: white, dark and milk chocolate. After trying all three, the white is the one where the flavor of the torrenzno is most noticeable, which can throw off the most sensitive ones. In the other two, its flavor is almost completely camouflaged and it is noticeable above all for the crunchiness it provides.
Each 300 g tablet is priced at 12 euros.
