The chaos with those verified on Twitter is not being an impediment for the company now owned by Elon Musk to work on new functions. The tycoon, in fact, has announced the future arrival of various features related to videos coming soon to the app and that, apparently, they aim to deal with TikTok or Instagram.
One of them, and probably the most notorious for the majority of Twitter users, andIt’s a tab dedicated solely to videos. Elon Musk has confirmed it when answering to a tweet stating that “Twitter should include a separate feed just for recommended videos” for each profile, just like the ‘For You’ feed.
Elon Musk has also confirmed that natively posted videos “will be promoted more than an external link”. Specifically, it states that “the more screen time users spend looking at a post, text, image or video, the more this content is promoted” and, therefore, more time is spent watching a video than clicking on a link .
The manager, on the other hand, is aware of the poor upload of videos on Twitter, and affirms that they are working to solve it. He assures, however, that it is best to use a 480p resolution for 10-minute clips because you think it’s enough for smartphones or laptops.
Both benefits, we reiterate, are very similar to those offered by TikTok and Instagram. The video app developed by ByteDance, despite the fact that it also allows the upload of images, enhances the videos considerably more. instagramfor its part, also gives great importance to Reels with a dedicated tab and priority over publications.
Twitter seems to have sorted out the verification chaos, too.
Beyond videos, Twitter is also making changes to some features that have only wreaked havoc on the platform. One of them is the notice of verified accounts. More specifically, the message that appeared in the verifications of some famous people who have already died, such as Kobe Bryant, who supposedly had the blue badge and was subscribed to Blue to confirm his phone number. Now, Twitter only shows the following message: “This account is verified.”
The social network, let’s remember, only allows verification (blue badge) through a subscription to Twitter Blue. Except, of course, for those users who have more than 1 million followers.
