The consumer association facua has presented a comparative study between the main brands of olive oil for sale in Spanish supermarkets to analyze the different prices between some references and others. The report, presented yesterday by Rubén Sánchez, general secretary of the organization, reveals that between the cheapest and the most expensive oils there can be up to a 68% difference in price.
The report specifically analyzes the prices of 50 brands of virgin olive oil and extra virgin olive oil that are available for sale in eight of the main Spanish supermarket chains, comparing the products according to their varieties or sales formats. According to FACUA, the same brand of extra virgin can come out up to 45% more expensive depending on the supermarket, which means paying up to 4 euros more per liter of oil.
