Saying Bar La Patata is a declaration of intent in favor of one of the classic establishments in Cornellà de Llobregat, a town in the metropolitan area of Barcelona that has a few decades of life.
Specifically, this place with a family atmosphere was founded in 1955, and has three generations behind it dedicated to treating potatoes (and other varied tapas specialties) in a way that has kept them open these seven decades.
With permission from the most famous potatoes in Barcelona (those at Bar Tomás), those at this establishment are, for some, the bestthanks to a very particular sauce accompanied by familiar and fast service.
This bar highlights the roasted potatoes, which the company makes by the kilo, as well as its various tapas. Its star dish is therefore homemade aioli potatoeswith this sauce with a touch of pepper that is especially acclaimed by customers.
Chocos are also a standout snack in this typical tapas menu establishment: morros, squid, Roman squidfried fish and other fried foods promise a satisfying meal with friends or family.
But other classic tapas from Spanish history are also served in this place, which also has Galician octopus, cuttlefish, marinated fish, grilled prawns, Galician chorizo, suckling pig, skewersquails, cockles and clams, all of them reflected in a menu (Symbolic) of the kind that is no longer seen in which the prices are written with a marker according to the market price (although there is also a triptych menu like the usual ones).
As is typical of this type of establishment, the service at this location is very fastaimed at setting up as many tables as possible while filling them with satisfaction.
Precisely for this reason, the half portions They are generous so as not to leave anyone hungry, in the style of the old establishments, although among their features to improve is the need to improve their bread.
Also notable in this establishment is its terrace, ideal for weeks of good and hot weather, where (along with the interior, style with a Castilian touch) there is a tapas that is a kind of time travel to an era in which Spain only had this type of bars in its streets and neighborhoods.
This place is so cool that it has not even bothered to offer its services on a website, on social networks intensively (where it has completely outdated accounts) or in responding to reviews through platforms like TripAdvisor, because it has the feeling of impunity that classic always prevails.
