Jac is one of the brands that uses E-Drive chargers, and participated in the Evergo project to develop your public charging network.
“This project, in which we have been involved, triggers very important things, because even though we have said that a user with their charger at home has enough to travel, having public infrastructure is not necessary,” says Isidoro Massri, director of Jack Mexico.
When discussing whether the expansion of the infrastructure was the responsibility of the brands, the charger manufacturers or the government, Massri considers that “you need a company that is profitable, that has a business plan and that can satisfy those doubts that has the customers.”
A service with cost
Some days ago, Tesla announced that it would start charging for the use of its chargers “supercharger” in Mexico, as of November 14, after more than six years of offering them for free.
The announcement of the Elon Musk brand, which is the largest seller of electric vehicles in Mexico, opens the door to trigger a business around the charging infrastructure.
“We have already passed that free phase, of market opening, and we are going to enter a stage of maturation. This stage leads us to have profitable business models”, says López.
The launch of Evergo is accompanied by an application that will allow users to know the nearest charging centers, separate them, know the price at which these services are offered and the waiting time, as well as prepaid options. In the same way, it will have an application focused on the supply of cargo for fleets.
Currently, the company is working in the Dominican Republic in a business segment called Evergo-Connectwhich contemplates the creation of a super electric station with fast charging, supplied from renewable energy, which includes coworking spaces and restaurants to create a meeting point between owners with this type of vehicle.
“We want to differentiate ourselves from the typical energy department, to create our own department and system, which can motivate the creation of increasingly smart cities”, concludes Oscar San Martin, general manager of Evergo Holdings.
