This 2024 the first prize in the contest Best Torrezno in the World, which was held this weekend in Burgo de Osma (Soria), is going outside the province.

All of them, in two different rounds, competed in El Burgo de Osma during the morning of last March 10 for the prestigious gastronomic title of being the Best Torreznos Chefs in the World.
In relation to the Best Torrezno in the World made by an amateur chef, the winner has been Javier Jiménez Alonso, from Ágreda Cave. He is the owner of a rural house at the foot of Moncayo and a transporter and this is the fourth time he has won the title. What has tipped the balance of the jury towards his torreznos has been the use of a spectacular raw material, Poached with care and that have been fried slowly and deliberately, giving torreznos with an elegant presence, with a spectacular golden crust, very forceful and crunchy, that crackled when split with the knife and with a lean but tough meat on the outside. When they were split, they had a perfect pink color inside and with the ideal fatty touch. A Torrezno that was tender on the palate and melted in the mouth.
The prize for the winner and finalist of the Professional category It has been a diploma and a trophy, in addition to the distinction that the Torrezno de Soria Guarantee Brand assigns annually to the Best Torrezno in the World, one of the great attractions towards tourism and lovers of this product. And, with this, enter the select list of establishments classified as producers of the Best Torrezno in the World. In addition to being able to participate in a cooking demonstration in this year's edition of the prestigious Barcelona Food Fair that will take place in a few weeks.
