The Palacios Group, which manufactures this typical dish that consumers can buy at Carrefour, Dia, El Corte Inglés, Condis, Consum and other supermarkets, He has asked not to consume his packaged tortilla as it may be related to an outbreak of botulism.
The Palacios Food Business Group has not been able to confirm that the botulism outbreakof which several cases have already been reported in different autonomous communities of Spain, have to do with your packaged potato omelette. It is something that the Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) has reiterated, highlighting that “it has not been possible to establish evidence, neither in the products nor in the processes, that relates cause and effect” to the company.
The company, however, has claimed it’s a statement that, as a precaution, “all those who have purchased one of these products” in the following establishments: Chef Select, Auchan, Eroski, Unide, Consum, DIA, Ametller, Condis, El Corte Inglés, Carrefour, Alipende and Rikissimo, “refrain from consuming it.” People who have purchased this product can also return it to the point of sale where they bought it. The supermarket will make a refund of the amount.

It is produced at the Mudrian factory, where they have stopped making it until they know if this dish really has anything to do with the cases of Botulism. For now, the Palacios Alimentación Business Group emphasizes that the factories have been inspected up to four times by health authorities “with favorable results.”
