The spaces called dog friendly are increasingly common in the hospitality sector, and could soon spread to other areas if the idea that comes from Finland curdles in other countries. A supermarket of the K-Supermarket chain, belonging to the Kesko conglomerate, in the Finnish town of Tampere, has just added some carts specially designed for customers access with your dogs and shop with them.
The initiative comes from Joona Pesonen and Matilda Tistelgren, the young couple who have run the place for a few months and who declare themselves animal lovers, being themselves dog owners of the golden retriever breed. They say they have already seen the idea of the special car in other countries and it seemed to them that it could be very successful among their clients, since there are many inhabitants of the area who have dogs at home.
Speaking to euronewsthe couple comments on nuisance What does it mean to go for a walk or run with your pet and have to leave it at home if you want to go to the supermarket, instead of going shopping directly in its company.
Until now, the usual thing for dog owners is to have to leave their best friend tied at the door from most shops, including supermarkets, with the inconvenience and difficulties that this entails for some animals and, above all, if the weather conditions are adverse, as is often the case in a country like Finland for most of the year. only the guide or service dogs are usually allowed in these establishments.
The new carts are designed with a dog bed at the bottom and a special down payment for leashes or harnesses, since the animal must be subject at all times. Given the good reception of this idea, they plan to add a small ramp or system that allows each animal to get on the cart without help.
