After a whole week of meetings for different members of the industry, DICE Summit 2022 came to an end yesterday with a ceremony focused on celebrating the best games we saw throughout 2021. Similar to what happened with The Game Awards, It Takes Two took home the Game of the Year grand prizealthough it was not the title with the most wins.
The ceremony of the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS for its acronym in English) was not only in charge of awarding various prizes to games such as Returnal, Halo Infinite, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apartwhich took home the most statuettes, and more, but was also dedicated to honoring NetherRealm Studios’ Ed Boon, who joined the AIAS Hall of Fame in 2022, since Microsoft’s Phil Spencer, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Editor’s note:
While The Game Awards has a more commercial focus, with various advertisements taking up more space than the awards show, DICE’s event feels closer to the Oscars, as there is an arts organization behind the organization, and there are no first-rate trailers or reveals to steal the spotlight.
