The camera is an aspect that most manufacturers put special emphasis on. However, if on paper they promise incredible results, when the time comes to use it they show some deficiencies. Xiaomi goes from words to actions and the camera of the new Xiaomi 13T and Xiaomi 13T Pro are the best example. To begin with, they have been developed together with Leica, synonymous with excellence in the world of photography. Secondly, they are cameras with very good features and, thirdly, the phones have a quality-price ratio that is impossible to match.
Let’s start at the beginning, the partnership with Leica. It is not the first time that we see how a prestigious brand in the world of photography makes a collaboration with a smartphone. In fact The relationship between Xiaomi and Leica already has several high-end smartphones developed together. However, what they have done this time, bringing that collaboration to the T range, is a declaration of intent, making it much more accessible to all people. Or what is the same: taking the best photo is no longer only within the reach of the range premium.
Two phones, one almost identical camera
It must be taken into account that the difference between the two models is few. If we look at the photography section for example, the only difference is related to video recording, whereby the Xiaomi 13T Pro model can record in 8K while the Xiaomi 13T model does so in 4K. Pretty good in both cases.
In the photography part They are identical cameras. If we look at the hardware, both models integrate a triple camera module, with Summicron lenses co-designed with Leica. First of all we have a 50 megapixel wide angle with a 24mm equivalent focal length and a 7P aspherical lens designed to capture more light and support high dynamic range shooting.
The second lens is a telephoto lens, also 50 megapixels with a focal length equivalent to 50mm. The third lens, for its part, It is a 12 megapixel ultra wide angle with a focal length equivalent to 15 mm, perfect for all those who enjoy taking panoramic photos and want to capture impressive landscapes.
Leica’s hand is also noticeable when it comes to image processing, with two styles that we have already seen before on higher-priced Xiaomi phones. Both the Authentic Look and the Vibrant Look modes manage to capture all the color and contrast of the shapes in any scene. And finally, Xiaomi has also incorporated six filters in tribute to the German brand, for all those nostalgic for traditional photography.
Professional video recording
Although the photography part is important, we cannot forget that we also live in the age of video, so users increasingly demand better features when recording. Features that offer almost professional results.
It is precisely in the video part where the Xiaomi 13T Pro model stands out a little above its brother by recording in a higher resolution. In both models, your camera is capable of selecting the frame rate, bit rate or color information so in addition to recording with the best possible quality, it creates a file that can later be edited on the computer without losing quality.
In this sense, it must also be noted that the Pro model is capable of recording in 8K with OIS and EIS stabilization that guarantees that the videos come out more stable, even if we are recording in motion.
Finally, the Pro mode of the video editor function, found in the Xiaomi Gallery application, allows you to edit the video on the fly from the device itself, for example by adding subtitles or soundtracks, something that is very convenient if you are a creator. of regular content.
Much more than a good camera
The camera is not the only outstanding aspect of the new Xiaomi 13T series. For example, to ensure the best multimedia experience, both phones have the same screen: a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED panelin 20:9 format and with a refresh rate of 144Hz.
If we go to the differences between both phones, the most important ones are found in two categories. On the one hand, the processor: the Pro model It has a MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ while the normal model, MediaTek Dimensity 8200-Ultra. Both ensure that the phone runs smoothly at all times, even when using demanding apps.
The second difference is found in the charging system. The Xiaomi 13T Pro model is compatible with the Xiaomi HyperCharge intelligent charging system, with 120W power. If we carry this out when charging the battery, it allows it to reach 100% in just 19 minutes. In the case of the normal model, the charging system is 67W and completes the battery in 42 minutes.
