The endless wait is about to end. The Last of Us, one of the most important PlayStation franchises, will take its first steps on the computer. Taking advantage of the spotlight on the Game Awards 2022, Sony announced that The Last of Us Part 1remake of the first installment, will be available on March 3, 2023. The title can be purchased through Steam and the Epic Games Store. In both stores you can already make the pre-purchase.
As well as The Last of Us Part 1 benefited from the technical potential of the PlayStation 5, it will also do so in its computer version. Let’s remember that this remake stood out, mainly, for adopting the graphic level seen in the sequel. In some moments, in fact, it looks even better. In our analysis we delve into this and other issues.
Naughty Dog dedicated efforts to completely renew the visual section. Textures exhibit a higher level of detail, lighting has been substantially improved, and many character and object models have been made from scratch. In this last case we can highlight that of Ellie, whose face underwent some changes to bring it closer to the larger version seen in The Last of Us Part 2.
Although Sony has not specified the technical news of the PC variant, it will surely arrive with keyboard and mouse support, widescreen monitors and performance unlocked. That is, the maximum frame rate will be conditioned by the performance of your computer. It is expected that in the coming weeks they will also reveal the minimum and recommended requirements. We will have to be aware of their page on Steam.
“Experience the exciting storytelling and unforgettable characters in The Last of Us, winner of more than 200 Game of the Year awards. In a devastated civilization, where infected and hardened survivors proliferate, Joel, a weary protagonist, is hired to smuggle 14-year-old Ellie out of a military quarantine zone. However, what starts out as a small job soon turns into a brutal cross-country journey.”
The launch of The Last of Us Part 1 on PC is part of the Sony’s ambitious strategy to conquer computer gamers. In recent years, the company has shown its commitment to growing its presence on this platform. The Naughty Dog title joins others such as Horizon Zero Dawn, Sackboy: A Great Adventure, Marvel’s Spider-Man, god of war Y Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection. All of them, by the way, with a very positive reception on PC
Hermen Hulst, head of PlayStation Studios, explained earlier this year that PC revenue would allow them to increase investment in exclusive games. It is well known that video game development, especially with the quality bar proposed by Sony, is not cheap.
