The collaboration between FIAT and (RED) has given life to a very interesting special edition for the 500 family. A version loaded with new features that lands on the FIAT 500, 500X and 500L models. They present an exterior and interior finish differentiated from the rest of the range, together with a wide range of standard equipment.
The organization (RED) was founded in 2006 by Bono and Bobby Shriver to tackle the disease AIDS. Now, focused on the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, it has carried out a very interesting collaboration with the brand FIAT. A collaboration whose main fruit has been a special edition for the family 500. It’s about the new special version RED.
It is characterized by showing a differentiated exterior and interior finish. To this must be added a complete standard equipment. And it is offered for the entire 500 range. That is, from the small and iconic FIAT 500 urbanite to the company’s only SUV, the 500X, and going through the most practical and familiar alternative, the 500L.
The RED special edition for the FIAT 500 family
All models have common features and characteristics to create a connection between them. The color red is the main protagonist and is combined with details in black. They also sport the special edition logo. And if we venture inside, the design details make an appearance in, for example, the floor mats or the upholstery of the seats. And although red is the main color, there are more customization options.
In the same way, there are equipment that we will find in each of the available models. The air filter treated with a biocidal substance highly effective (99.9%) against viruses and bacteria is one of them. In addition, certain surfaces with which it comes into contact, see the steering wheel or the seats, have been subjected to an antimicrobial treatment that reaches 99.9% efficiency against viruses and bacteria depending on the components.
Moreover, each vehicle in the (500) RED family comes with a welcome kit, which includes a hand sanitizer dispenser and a dedicated faucet housing. In addition, in the same kit, customers will find a letter signed by Olivier François and Bono, welcoming them to the (RED) community.

The new 500 RED
It has numerous hallmarks that allow it to differentiate itself from the rest of the trim levels that make up the range. It is quickly recognizable thanks to the 500 logo on the front and the FIAT logo on the tailgate finished in red. In addition, the specific emblem of the special series is located on the base of the rear window. It is also important to note that it is offered in two body variants: Saloon and Convertible with a black top.
The bodywork can be painted in the new exclusive Red by (RED) color and is also offered in these other shades: Mineral Gray, Ice White and Onyx Black. And if we venture inside, we will find a red anodized aluminum accelerator pedal. It is paired with the black passenger seats and the red driver’s seat.
FIAT will offer its special little electric car in two levels of autonomy. On the one hand is the version of 70 kW (95 hp) with a range of 190 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle and, on the other hand, there is the version of 87 kW (118 hp) with a range of up to 320 km.
FIAT 500 RED Hybrid, the light hybrid model becomes special
The 500 with an internal combustion engine is no stranger to this special edition. The new 500 RED combustion It is based on the Dolcevita version and together with all the characteristics shared by the (500) RED family, it shows off the edition logo on both uprights. The bodywork is available in the following colors: Passione Red, Pompeii Gray, Gelato White and Cinema Black.
To these details we must add chrome elements on the grill and the door handles. And among its endowment, highlights the infotainment system with a 7-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and 15-inch alloy wheels. By the way, it is also available in Saloon and Cabrio format.
Under the hood is a 1.0-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine that develops a power of 70 hp and is electrified with 12-volt light hybrid technology (MHEV).
FIAT 500X RED, the most adventurous alternative
Taking as a starting point the Cross version of the FIAT SUV, the new 500X Red. Like the rest of the models that make up this special series, it sports a striking and well-differentiated exterior finish. The (500) RED logo appears on the front door pillars. Passione Red body color is available alongside Fashion Gray, Gelato White and Cinema Black shades. The design details in red will contrast with the tonality chosen for the bodywork.
Leaving aside the outside, if we venture into the interior of the new 500X RED we will be surrounded by an atmosphere of contrasts. The upholstery and finishes in black or dark are combined with red applications. The armrest seams are also red. The endowment is very complete. Between his equipments They include a 7-inch touch screen with integrated browser, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 19-inch alloy wheels, parking sensors, automatic climate control and fog lights.
With regard to the mechanical section, you can choose between two engines. On the one hand we have a 1.0-liter Firefly 120 hp gasoline engine and, on the other hand, a 130 hp 1.6-liter MultiJet diesel engine respectively.
FIAT 500L RED, practical and familiar option
Last but not least is the new 500L RED. It also features the special edition logo on the front door pillars. And it shares body colors with the aforementioned 500X RED. That is, the Passione Red, Fashion Gray, Gelato White and Cinema Black shades. To this must be added the possibility of giving the ceiling a black finish to create contrast. Standard is fitted with 16-inch wheels, although there are optionally 17-inch wheels.
The standard equipment it is equally complete. Among other elements, it has automatic climate control, rain sensor, automatic lights, cruise control and speed limiter.
The mechanical supply consists of a 95 hp 1.4-liter gasoline engine as well as a 1.3-liter MultiJet diesel engine with the same power level.
