Predator: The Prey (Prey) It is done available on Disney+. The new installment of the saga predator It’s not just one of the best in the entire franchise (including Alien vs. Predator), it’s also one of the best recent releases on the streaming service. A breath of fresh air with a very careful staging.
If you haven’t seen yet Predator: The Prey, there is a very simple way to enjoy the movie more (and it’s not about seeing the entire saga first, that too). The film is set 300 years ago, in the Great Plains of America of the Comanche natives, and this opens the door to see the film in a different way.
Most of its cast are, precisely, Native Americans, including Naru, its protagonist. The character of Naru is played by Amber Midthunder. The actress is of Native American descent. and is an enrolled member of the Fort Peck Sioux Tribe, as are the rest of the natives in the film.
This, together with its location and development, opened the door for 20th Century Studios to offer the possibility of seeing Predator: The Prey in two languages in its original version: English, with which it was originally recorded, and a Comanche dub of the parts where that language is not originally used.
Why you should watch Predator: Prey in Comanche
By default, when you watch Predator: The Prey in original version, Disney+ will choose to offer you the original version, which features dialogue in English with some Comanche. However, it can be changed to the Comanche version quite simply, changing the audio track from the player options offered by all Disney+ and Star+ apps. Something you should do before watching the movie.
There are many reasons why the Comanche version of Predator: The Prey it’s much better than the original version (and it’s something that doesn’t happen very often). First of all, given the setting, it allows the viewer to become more immersed in the film. One that, in addition, does not have many dialogues, so it will not be a problem for most given the existence of subtitles in all languages.
Also, Predator: The Presto is one of the few films to have been dubbed in an indigenous language, so watching the dubbing is a very different way of watching a movie. Seeing it with a language that is not usually available, so it is a different experience that fits very well with the staging of the film.
Beyond this, the Comanche version is the way the film’s creators intended it to be seen. In an interview with DigitalSpy, Prey producer Jhane Myers said, “OrOriginally, when the movie was written, the first script had, at the top, that ‘All dialogue in Comanche.'”
