We have to go back to the end of 2021 to find the moment when Tesla announced its own beer. Despite the fact that the public watched Elon Musk’s presentation in Berlin beforehand, everyone knew very well that, sooner or later, his new alcoholic drink would see the light of day. After almost a year and a half of waiting, those led by Elon Musk they have finally released the GigaBier.
In the Web from Tesla it is already possible to acquire it. Of course, like other company products that have little to do with promoting electric mobility, the GigaBier will not be cheap —compared to other traditional beer brands, of course.
Tesla is selling his beer at a box with 3 bottles (330 ml each) in exchange for 89 euros. These also have a very elegant design that, according to the automaker, is inspired by the Cybertruck. It certainly has straight lines reminiscent of the expected pickup.
The GigaBier, whose degree of alcohol is 5%is produced with water, malted barley, yeast and a touch of “Cyberhop” -the electrified variant of hops-.
“The Tesla GigaBier is designed to emulate the shape of the Cybertruck while honoring the 500-year tradition of brewing German beer Reinheitsgebot.”
Tesla.
When they mention the “Reinheitsgebot”, they are not referring to a brand, but to the Beer Purity Law. It is a German postulate that establishes that said drink can only be made with water, malted barley and hops. Tesla, then, plans to honor the regulations that were born in the distant 1516.
Beware, if you want to get your hands on Tesla’s beer, you better hurry. They indicate that it is a limited edition product and, of course, it can only be acquired by people of legal age.
“Enjoy this limited-edition, pilsner-style beer, brewed in Berlin with our signature variety of Cyberhops and notes of citrus, bergamot, and sweet fruit. Each bottle has a seamless glossy black sleeve with a glow-in-the-dark “Giga” watermark. Prost!»
Tesla.
At the moment, the GigaBier only sold in the following European countries: Spain, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Finland, France, United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal and Sweden. For now, Tesla has not communicated if he plans to take his beer outside the old continent.
This isn’t the first time Tesla has tried its hand at an alcoholic beverage. During 2020, coinciding with the April’s Fool’s Day of the United States, presented the Teslaquila. Due to the day, most thought it was a joke from the automaker. However, in November of that same year they put it up for sale for $250 dollars. It was so popular that it sold out in a matter of hours.
Later, in April 2022, they released a limited edition of the Teslaquila. Its price reached $420 dollars, but that was not an impediment for it to be sold out in minutes. Will the same happen with beer? We will know soon.
