We have had to wait almost a month for autumn to finally make itself truly noticeable. We don’t want to launch the campaigns to the return yet, but finally it seems the veroño is over and we can embrace the season that also plays on the table, with a weekly menu that you want to put your spoon into.
Seasonal products are still timidly displayed in the markets and the crown jewels of the season have not yet arrived, so we have to have a little patience. While I wait for the fruit shop to be filled with persimmons, apples, oranges and tangerines, it is time to say goodbye to the last figs and start enjoying pumpkins and sweet potatoes.
What cannot be missing from our recipes for the weekly menu are spoon dishes, both with vegetable creams and recovering traditional humble soups, and of course the spooning legumes. Widows, seafood or with their meat and sausages, we also love legumes in summer, but they are enjoyed much more when the temperatures drop.
