One of the most striking points of any game of No more heroes, is the design of its main character, Travis Touchdown. The shirts that the protagonist wears may not be iconic, but they are probably desired by fans of the series. However, there is currently no official merchandise from the franchise. Given this fact, Goichi Suda, better known as Suda51, He’s not against people buying pirated No More Heroes products.
In a recent interview with Twitch Gaming, Suda51 mentioned that their studio, Grasshopper Manufacture, doesn’t sell No More Heroes-inspired t-shirts, and it seems they don’t mean to. Thus, the developer mentioned not having a problem with people buying these types of products illegally. This was what he commented:
“The shirts you see behind me were actually made at Grasshopper. Actually, we are not officially selling them. I’m not sure if it’s okay to mention this, but there is a site called Red Ribbon, and they seem to sell these shirts on their own without permission. Since we don’t, if anyone wants a shirt, check out Red Ribbon. They have them there ”.
“Red Ribbon” surely refers to Redbubble. This site allows artists to upload their own work and sell it on t-shirts, coffee mugs, pillows, phone cases and all kinds of products.
Although Suda51 and Grasshopper Manufacture are in charge of developing the No More Heroes games, 90% of the property belongs to Marvelous, the Japanese company responsible for the publication of this series. Thus, the production of T-shirts and other types of elements does not fall to Suda51. This gives you the freedom to incite the public to buy unofficial material.
Perhaps a visit to Tepito will result in a new collection inspired by Travis Touchdown. In related topics, you can check our review of No More Heroes III here.
