Earlier this month, capcom announced that the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3as well as Resident Evil 7they would be receiving native versions of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Existing owners of these games will be able to upgrade at no cost, but what about the save files? Well, fortunately, they can be transferred to these new versions.
This was confirmed by himself capcomwho through a tweet, mentioned the following:
“We are happy to confirm that save files from the original PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of these games will carry over to their respective enhanced versions. The DLC that comes with Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition will also carry over.”

for now capcom hasn’t detailed exactly how the system will work to transfer your save files, but hopefully it won’t be as much of a problem with the version of PS5. As long as they don’t force us to download these games again in their last generation versions, I guess there will be no problem.
Publisher’s note: This is great news, especially for those who have already finished all these games and want to give it a second run without losing all the progress they already have. After all, Resident Evil games have always lend themselves to being played more than once because of everything you can unlock.
