Oppo launches in Europe the new Reno 8 series, made up of two main models: the Reno 8 and the Reno 8 Pro. The idea, as in previous generations, is to satisfy those people who are looking for a product with a careful design and quality cameras but do not want to pay the thousand euros (or even more) that reference phones usually cost.
Both phones feature a design that combines the flat sides of the previous generation with the “mound” of the rear that we’ve seen in Oppo’s Find series. The result – especially on the Pro model, which feels more premium in the hand– it is quite conspicuous.
The brand also has chosen a series of quite interesting colorsespecially highlighting a very attractive green model in the Reno 8 Pro and a variant Glow which is striking in the case of the Reno 8.

The Reno 8 is the real star of Oppo
The new Oppo Reno 8 are competent products, although, from a technical point of view, the most interesting is probably the standard model, not the Pro.
The standard Oppo Reno 8 embraces the IMX766 sensor that the brand also mounts on its high-end products, the only difference being the absence of both OIS and the MariSilicon X processor for image processing. Still, the IMX766 is a pretty competent sensor on its own, so it should be a noticeable improvement in the photographic field over its predecessor.
It also takes a step forward in the front camera, with a new sensor; on internal storage, which is now 256 GB; in battery capacity, which gains 200 mAh; in the charging speed, which reaches 80W; and in other minor aspects such as the speed of the fingerprint reader.
Another significant change is the processor, which goes from a Dimensity 900 to a Dimensity 1300. This chip is noticeably more powerful, and tests such as the Geekbench multicore test reflect this, where it achieves a 50% higher score.
Oppo Reno 8 It will be sold for 549 euros, 50 euros more than its predecessor. However, between the inflation that is pushing the entire technology industry to raise prices and the clear evolution of the product in areas such as the processor or the main sensor, this increase makes sense.
The Oppo Reno 8 Pro takes steps forward, but also backwards
The Oppo Reno 8 Pro, on the other hand, takes steps forward, but also backwards. We have a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max processor which promises to deliver better performance than its predecessor’s Snapdragon 870, a superior fast-charging system, a screen that now has 120 Hz, and a front camera with a technically better sensor. Also incorporates the MariSilicon X image processing chip that the brand mounts on the Find X5 Pro.
Nevertheless, the Reno 8 Pro also takes several steps back from its predecessor in some respects. For example: the main camera loses the OIS system, the wide angle has a lower sensor, it dispenses with the telephoto lens and incorporates 4 GB less of RAM memory (going from 12 of the previous model to 8 in this case).
The reason behind these steps back is unknown, though One possibility is inflation. that threatens to raise the price of various technological products in the coming months. The Reno 8 Pro will be marketed for the same price as the Reno 6 Pro: 799 euros. And it may be that, to avoid the rises derived from the aforementioned inflation, the brand has decided to take steps back in some aspects. This, however, is only a possibility, as the brand has not specified the reasoning behind this strategy.
in what yes, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro undoubtedly stands out in the design, which is well cared for, with very thin bezels around the screen, a lightweight chassis, and a good feel when held in the hand. The green model is also very attractive.
Both arrive with launch promotions
Both the Oppo Reno 8 and the Pro variant will hit stores with launch promotions that include the earphones Enco Free 2 (whose PVP is 99 euros in the brand store) in the case of the standard model and the Enco X2 (whose PVP is 199 euros in the brand store) in the case of the Reno 8 Pro. The two models, in addition, will arrive with a gift case from the brand. The inclusion of these accessories undoubtedly plays in favor of these phones in their first weeks on sale.
Oppo also presents a cheap tablet
Chinese brand too has taken the opportunity to officially present the Oppo Pad Airan affordable tablet that can be a good option for those looking for an affordable product to read, perform simple tasks or give both back to school and next Christmas.

The Oppo Pad Air It will arrive in stores for 299 euros in its version of 4 GB of RAM + 64 GB of storage. The variant with 128 GB of storage will cost 349 euros.
