League of Legends is one of the video games that is constantly changing its goal with the arrival of new champions, Bel’Veth has officially seen its first full week of professional presence. After being enabled on June 29, she had a somewhat disappointing debut, chosen by Matthew ‘Akaadian’ Higginbotham in Golden Guardians Academy’s loss to Immortals Academy.
Something we find quite curious is that he quickly picked up speed, appearing in six games in just two days of Academy play and averaging a 66% win rate in those NA games. Overall a solid debut, but he had yet to see a major region played.

That changed on July 1, when he watched his first two matches in the LEC; a win with Team Vitality and a loss with SK Gaming. In both games, she took quite a while to connect, but Team Vitality’s jungler Kang ‘Haru’ Min-Seung put in an impressive performance with her late in the game despite a slow start.
As of July 7, the LEC and LCK are the only major regions that have chosen Bel’Veth. He has seen 44 bans in all competitive regions and 29 picks, all of them in the jungle. Right now, she’s sitting comfortably with a 51.7% win rate with an average KDA of 4.0.
Frostfire Gauntlet vs. Kraken Slayer
But how are the professionals building Bel’Veth? Is it different from what we’re seeing in her in solo queue? The mythical core of hers is, of course, Kraken Slayer, which has been built in 16 of her 29 total games. Stat-wise, she gives her everything she’s looking for.
His kit is very focused on attack speed, and the attack speed steroid on his passive allows him to quickly build up autos for Kraken Slayer’s true damage passive. In the seven games where the Kraken Slayer was not built, players almost universally opted for the Frostfire Gauntlet.
It doesn’t work as well with his overall stat profile, giving health, resistances, and ability haste instead of attack speed and damage, but what it does do is allow him to be a bit more frontline on softer gear at The compositions.
Other elements
We saw a game of Danil ‘Diamondprox’ Reshetnikov’s Turbo Chemtank Bel’Veth with Bifrost at the NLC (unsurprisingly, it didn’t quite work out). Another interesting build variation came from Safièn ‘YallaSafSaf’ Godthelp, jungler for LowLandLions in the Benelux, who has been the only player so far to opt for Immortal Shieldbow on Bel’Veth, another marksman item that takes the place of Kraken Slayer on a damage-oriented build to Bel’Veth.
