There was a time where Netflix completely dominated the entertainment space via streaming, although obviously, that has changed as more and more platforms are coming to market. As such, it was to be expected that the competition would begin to hog some of its subscribers, and at least here in Mexico, Netflix yes it has lost a considerable amount of them.
According to information from the firm, The CIU, Netflix still dominate here Mexico, but its participation in the Mexican market is no longer as strong as before. By the end of 2021, the previously mentioned portal estimates that there were a total of 12 million subscribers in the country, and 63 of every 100 would belong to Netflix.
Currently, Netflix It has a market share of 63.5% in Mexicofollowed by Disney+ with 12.6% and HBO Max with 9..3%. Beyond 2021, Netflix it had a percentage of 74.6%, not to mention 2020 when it was above 80%. These analysts expect that this percentage will continue to decline in the coming years, although it will be difficult for other streaming services to reach it, much less surpass it.
Publisher’s note: Obviously this was something that was going to happen yes or yes. Netflix lost a significant number of properties once other streaming services began to arrive, and although the platform has been releasing several major productions, it seems that they are not enough to keep the average user.
