Where will Luis Miguel tickets be sold?
Tickets for the different dates are sold from an official page, which offers an option at each venue where the artist will perform during the Luis Miguel Tour 2023, which will be produced by the Marketing Network, CMN, and Fénix Entertainment chains.
In the Mexico City, the concerts of Luis Miguel will be held in November the Arena Ciudad de México, which is operated by Zignia Live, which also controls Arena Monterrey and Arena Guadalajara, and which belong to Grupo Avalanz, also owner of Superboletos.
This break with Ticketmaster, at least during this tour, occurs after the crisis that the ticket office faced due to its system failures during the bad bunny concert, that left thousands of people without access to the event.
The followers of the reggaeton player could not access the first presentation he offered in CDMX, Ticketmaster argued that the readings in his system were affected by the high number of registered false tickets and the high concentration of mobile devices in the place.
After the incident, and to avoid a fine, Ticketmaster reimbursed 18 million 154,367 pesos to 2,155 people who could not enter the Puerto Rican concert on December 9 at the Azteca Stadium.
Since then, the criticism on social networks against the ticket office for the prices, the service and the growing number of counterfeit tickets for different events have not stopped, a fact that has led other singers and groups to cut their relationship with the ticket office.
Without OCESA and without Citibanamex
OCESA, the event producer of Grupo CIE, which operates the National Auditorium, among other venues such as Foro Sol, also lost the opportunity to be the company behind Luis Miguel’s concerts.
The company, which has an alliance with Live Nation, and which is the owner of Ticketmaster, is struggling to recover from the pandemic and during the first quarter of 2023, its consolidated revenues reached 342 million pesos, a drop of 8.5% compared to with 374 registered in the same period of 2022.
Citibnamex was also left out of the presale. Santander will be the bank that will offer its customers pre-sale for the Luis Miguel concerts in Mexico. The pre-sale will take place on May 16 and 17, and a day later, on May 18, the general sale will begin.
For Ángel Méndez, a professor at the Banking and Commercial School (EBC), this fact provides an opportunity for competitors in the entertainment industry to demonstrate that they have the capacity and infrastructure to obtain quality services, and even give entry to new players. “It’s beneficial even for consumers, who can get tickets and events under other conditions,” he declares.
For now, the winner is Grupo Avalanz, chaired by Guillermo Salinas Pliego, brother of the businessman Ricardo Salinas Pliego, who announced on Twitter that he is considering “giving away” his suite for the concert at the Arena Ciudad de México.

This is not the first time that Luis Miguel has performed at the Zignia Live venues. In 2012, the Arena México was also the venue for his tour. For this year, rumors suggested that it would be the National Auditorium, where the artist has a record by offering 24 concerts in one season during his 33rd Tour, which took place between 2003 and 2004, a figure that no one has been able to surpass.
The EBC professor considers that for Ticketmaster, not having the tickets for Luis Miguel’s tour is a warning sign to reengineer their processes so as not to lose the trust of the users.
“He is losing a slice of the pie, it will not be a strong financial damage because he has many more events, but it does represent a reputational risk for the organization that an artist of this nature decides not to approve for them,” he says.
Carlos Hermosillo, an independent stock analyst, adds that the company must address and resolve the problem of counterfeit tickets to ensure reliable service. He points out that this is crucial to maintaining the trust of a wide range of artists and venues that rely on them to organize their events.
Other artists who have challenged the system
Robert Smith, frontman for The Cure, was one of the artists who recently expressed his dissatisfaction with the ticket prices, and managed to get the company to agree to return the money to fans who purchased dynamic fare tickets for the tour that included them. British band will give in the United States.
I AM AS SICKENED AS YOU ALL ARE BY TODAY'S TICKETMASTER 'FEES' DEBACLE. TO BE VERY CLEAR: THE ARTIST HAS NO WAY TO LIMIT THEM. I HAVE BEEN ASKING HOW THEY ARE JUSTIFIED. IF I GET ANYTHING COHERENT BY WAY OF AN ANSWER I WILL LET YOU ALL KNOW. X

Taylor Swift also questioned the ticket agent after her fans reported they couldn’t buy tickets for her US tour. Even the singer-songwriter’s followers filed a lawsuit against the company in a Los Angeles court.
