President Andrés Manuel López Obrador affirmed that bureaucracy in the Judiciary is something that despairs him, since it seems that the sense of doing justice does not predominate among the judges.
“The bureaucracy that exists in the three Powers, particularly in the Judiciary, makes me despair, there is an attitude that is too rigid, the feeling of doing justice does not predominate, the judges lack mystique to do justice,” the federal president reproached.
From Oaxaca, where he headed the daily meeting of the security cabinet, the federal president said that he will intervene directly so that people who are unjustly imprisoned can regain their freedom.

The President of the Republic pointed out that although his government no longer fabricates crimes to persecute opponents or commit revenge, this practice is still entrenched in various circles that use their influence in the Judiciary to act against other people.
He gave as an example the persecution of the leaders of the National Coordinator of Education Workers (CNTE) in Oaxaca, who were imprisoned in past six-year terms falsely accused of money laundering for opposing the educational reform.
“That, although it is no longer allowed by the president, these bad habits have remained. So yes we are going to continue intervening, it is a commitment that we have, that he is not in jail unjustly, ”said López Obrador.
On September 15, on the eve of the 211st anniversary of Mexico’s Independence, the federal government released 681 prisoners as part of a decree to release inmates over 65 years of age, who have been tortured or have spent more than 10 years without sentence.
