Mobile devices have evolved in such a way that it seems that, more than a telephone, they are a pocket computer. This is great because we can do a lot of tasks with it. However, the main function, making and receiving calls, has not been left behind, having new innovations that allow us, for example, to answer a call with just one gesture.
Smartphones are smart devices that include multiple functions and, therefore, have a lot of sensors that, in many cases, we do not know. The proximity sensor is one of the most useful and, in most cases, we do not take advantage of the advantages it offers us.
The proximity sensor allows the phone to turn off the screen when one brings the device to the ear, thus, the touch screen is deactivated and voice memos can be heard without pressing options. In the same way, it is useful in a call because false keystrokes are avoided and it is also possible to answer calls when this sensor detects gestures.
But how exactly does this mode work to answer phones? Here are the different ways to automatically answer a call with a gesture and without touching the phone screen.
How to answer a call with a gesture on Samsung?
Samsung devices have a feature called air gestures. With it we can control our mobile using specific movements with our hands. It responds with the motion sensor and the gesture sensor and you just have to have the phone close to us for the function to activate. There are also other options to control your mobile device with just your voice.
To access air gestures you must go to Settings> My Device> Movements and Gestures. It is important to know that the motion sensor for Samsung mobile phones is located in the upper right corner of the device.
To answer an incoming call, all you have to do is move your hand gently, from one side to the other, at a distance no greater than 3 centimeters from the mobile device.
Take a call with a gesture on Android
Some mobiles, despite having a motion sensor, do not have the integrated function of answering calls with a gesture; however, it is not something that cannot be solved.
There is a very useful application that basically provides this option to the device. The application is called Speaker Phone and it is available on the Play Store.
Once we receive a call with the application installed on our mobile, it will only be enough to lift the smartphone and place it on your ear. The call will be answered automatically without the need to press any buttons.
Take calls with a gesture on Huawei
Huawei devices have a feature known as Control Motions. With it we can both silence, deactivate keyboard vibration, and answer calls with a simple gesture and with one hand.
To activate this function, go to Settings> Intelligent Assistance> Control movements. Select the function you want to use and enable it.
This function is very useful if you are in a meeting and want to silence your mobile. All you have to do is turn the device upside down and the call will be muted automatically.
On the other hand, answering calls with this function will only be necessary to lift the mobile at ear level. Likewise, a call can be made from the contacts, selecting the contact to be called and taking the mobile phone to the ear, without having to touch any button on the screen.
Other ways to answer calls with a gesture
In case you don’t have a Huawei or Samsung mobile to activate these functions, you don’t have to worry. There is another alternative to answer the mobile with a gesture.
In case your hands are busy or dirty and you receive a call but you don’t want to take it so as not to get it dirty, there is an application called Air call Answer that is capable of answering the call by simply passing your hand near the proximity sensor.
This application is completely free and you can download it from the Play Store. It is important to highlight the fact that the developer keeps improving the application and has developed functions such as pocket mode, with which you can hang up the call by making two turns to the mobile.
