WhatsApp has just been pulled out of its sleeve new feature to improve privacy from your profile. The company is testing a new setting in the privacy section that will allow the user hide your profile picture from certain contacts. This option goes far beyond the current configuration, which is quite open and does not allow too much personalization of who sees and who does not see the WhatsApp profile photo. Now you can choose which contacts see it and which don’t.
The WhatsApp profile photo now with more privacy
Surely not all the contacts you have saved are friends, family or close people. Currently WhatsApp allows you to configure privacy so that your profile photo is shown to everyone or only to your contacts. This means that anyone you have on your list of contacts can enter WhatsApp and see your profile picture.
With the new option things change: Only the contacts you want will see your profile picture. WhatsApp will include a black list in which you can include all the contacts that you want. These contacts will not be able to see your profile picture despite being saved in your list.
It is an option that arrives late, but that finally arrives. The company has realized that not all the contacts that a user has on their list are close enough to show them photographs or personal data, so they have decided that users can personalize it in more detail.
The function is being tested currently in a beta version and may be available for Android and IOS In the next weeks. If you have contacts to whom you do not want to show more information than your phone number, you can hide your WhatsApp photo from whoever you want.
