Gboard settings have not stopped growing to the point that it is a bit difficult to find the corresponding setting. In addition to dressing up as Material You, Gboard has reorganized its settings to make it easier to find what you are looking for.
The main change is that the previous Search menu disappears and arrives Emojis, stickers and GIFs, a specific section for all the multimedia elements that can be attached from the keyboard, and which over time have gained more and more prominence on the Google keyboard.
Changes to Gboard settings
The next time you go into the Gboard settings to change some settings, you may be in for a surprise: several of the settings have changed places, to such an extent that the Search section has disappeared and, in its place comes Emojis, stickers and GIFs.
Within this submenu dedicated exclusively to multimedia elements you will find all settings related to emojis, like if you want to add a key to switch to the emoji keyboard or if you want to add the shortcut row for emojis.
It also includes other related functions that were formerly distributed by other sections, such as if you want the predictive content search to include GIFs, emojis and stickers, as well as if you want to be suggest emojis or stickers when typing. These options were previously buried within the Spell Check section.
These changes seem to be activating all users with GBoard 10.8.06 beta or higher, available in the Gboard beta program on Google Play and as an APK, although it is foreseeable that it will end up reaching everyone, regardless of the Android version.
