EFE.- Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard recognized on Thursday the companies that participated in the Together for Health program, an initiative of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador that aimed to face the pandemic in a coordinated manner between the Government and the private sector.
“Mexico was the only beneficiary of the unprecedented coordination between the private sector and the Government,” said Ebrard during the meeting, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported in a statement.
He added that the alliance formed between the Government of Mexico and public and private institutions “is a sign of the unity that exists in our country to face the Covid-19 pandemic.”
The Chancellor thanked the collaboration of companies such as Iberdrola in the purchase of supplies and medical protection.
In addition to care for patients from public institutions in private hospitals, support for the creation of Mexican ventilators and research for the national development of vaccines, among other actions.
“The pandemic has been difficult for our country, but it also brought out the best in each of the Mexicans,” he acknowledged.
He reiterated his willingness to collaborate with the private sector, academia and non-governmental organizations in order to continue facing the pandemic together and achieve economic recovery as soon as possible.
For its part, Iberdrola Mexico pointed out that the Mexican Foreign Ministry recognized the company “as one of the companies that has contributed the most during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The general director of the company, Enrique Alba, was in charge of receiving the distinction during the meeting.
In May 2020, Iberdrola México reported that it would double the investment for the purchase of sanitary equipment and supplies to be donated to the public sector to 60 million pesos.

He noted that so far, it has delivered almost 2 million units of medical supplies in 20 states of the country.
In addition to sanitary supplies, the firm also delivered 15,000 pantries with food and cleaning products in 80 communities and said it will continue to work for the benefit of the country.
With more than 20 years of presence in the country, Iberdrola México has a workforce of 1,300 employees, 99% of them Mexican.
