The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) has notified this weekend a final food alert in relation to the presence of histamine detected in Consum deep-frozen tuna pizzasmade in Italy and labeled under its own white label.
The alert has been transferred from the health authorities of the Valencian Community and at the moment there is no health case associated with it, but it is recommended to avoid its consumption. The Consum supermarket chain itself has proceeded to preventively withdraw the product from all its shelves, reporting the notice on its website with details of the specific lots affected.
It is one of the varieties of pre-cooked pizzas that the Consum brand includes in its catalog of private label products, manufactured by the Italian supplier Mantua Surgelati. The chain thus notifies that a possible presence of histamine has been detected in said pizzas, associated with tuna, and that in the event of any minimal possibility, it has proceeded to apply the precautionary principlewith the total removal of the references that could be involved.
These are the specific data of the affected pizzas:
- Product name. Tuna pizza (tomato, tuna, onion, edam cheese and mozzarella).
- Brand name. Consum.
- Lot numbers. NE16, NE25, NE09, NF27, NF23, NG08, NB17, NB24, NC03 and NH05.
- Product appearance. Cardboard container.
- Product unit weight. 370g
- Conservation temperature. Frozen.
According to the information available to date, these pizzas would have been distributed in the autonomous communities of Aragon, Catalonia, Castilla-La Mancha, Region of Murcia and Valencian Community. Consumers who have the affected product in their homes are advised to refrain from consuming it, and return it to the point of purchase.
