The purchase of Twitter by Elon Musk is one of the most unexpected events of the year. However, it seems that this process has already encountered a block, and it is not about US shareholders or laws, but about Musk himself. Through his official account, the executive has revealed that he has stopped the purchase of Twitterthis due to new information that emerged about the number of spam accounts in the social network.
Recently, Elon Musk shared a news item from May 3, where it is mentioned that less than 5% of Twitter accounts are spam, or false. Thus, Musk mentioned that he has stopped the purchase of the social network, and the negotiations will be underway again, until the company manages to provide data that supports this information. This is what he mentioned:
“Twitter deal temporarily suspended pending details supporting estimate that fake/spam accounts account for less than 5% of users.”

Let us remember that one of Musk’s first promises when announcing the purchase of Twitter, is that it will eliminate all the spam accounts that exist in the social network. Similarly, this revelation is released just when the company’s top executives were fired by Parag Agrawal, current CEO of Twitter, even when the manager mentioned that this would not be the case.
On related topics, Elon Musk would return his Twitter account to Donald Trump. Similarly, Musk has been sued, and the purchase of the social network is in danger.
Editor’s note:
It sounds quite strange that Musk decides to stop the purchase for a reason as simple and banal as the number of spam accounts. If the exec intends to remove this, it shouldn’t matter how many profiles may be fake. It would not even be a total surprise if at the end of the day this process does not materialize.
