A few months ago I spoke at length about everything you should know to do what is known as Statement of income either Income 2021. It is known as such because each year the earnings and loses from the previous year. If you reviewed your draft and gave it the go-ahead, the Tax Agency will have proof of it and, sooner rather than later, they will review it. Y if it came out to returnan expression used when the return is negative (for the Treasury, of course), you probably want the Tax Agency give you that money in your bank account. What we all call the return of the Treasury.
In the first two months of the 2021 Income campaign, according to official sources, the return of the Treasury had already reached 7.4 million taxpayers. Lucky them. But we are not all among them, so with each passing day, we are more impatient to know when will we receive that long-awaited return. The drawback is that the Tax Agency may take until the end of the year to review and approve your return. Come on, at the latest, you will receive the return from the Treasury on December 31. Namely, six months from completion of the income campaign. Beyond that date, you will be entitled to receive default interest. But it doesn’t usually happen.
As taxpayers or filers, the only thing we can do is wait. That and/or consult the Tax Agency in what process is our Income Tax return 2021. Pending processing? In check? Are there any bugs that I need to fix? The ideal would be to see a message of the type “your return has been processed, estimating according to the refund requested by you”. But where can we see that?
Check the return online
There are several ways to review the processing of your declaration and see what state your tax return is in if the return went out to be returned. The main one is through the official Income 2021 page, the one you used to view and edit the draft provided by the Tax Agency itself.
Enough with access this link, click on “Draft / tax return processing service (Renta WEB)” and identify yourself. To identify yourself you need your DNI, the Cl@ve PIN or, failing that, box 505 of the 2020 income tax. More information here.
When you access the file, in Processing Status you will see a message. Normally it indicates “is being processed”. If it is already in the hands of a member of the Treasury, the message “is being verified” will appear. The ideal would be to see the message “it has been processed (…) estimating according to the return”. In addition, there should be an approximate date of when the Treasury refund will be issued.
The message no one wants to see Processing Status is that of “pending due to incidents”. In that case, you must enter the tax return again and go to the section check to check that everything is correct. There you will see the possible incidents that prevent approving the declaration.
Check the return on your mobile
Another way to see how your return is being processed is by using your mobile phone. Both Android and iOS allow install the official app of the Tax Agency. It is a more comfortable and practically equally complete way of access all information and procedures related to the Treasury. But instead of doing it from the web, you will do it from an app.
Precisely, when you enter the Tax Agency app, one of the sections that stands out the most is, within Negotiations, the one that has to do with Income 2021. Once there you can see the processing status of your declaration, as well as consult your tax data or see the declarations of previous years if you did not save them on your computer.
So, within the app, if we’re going to Procedures > Income 2021, we must enter our ID and its expiration date. Next, you must enter a code provided by the Cl@ve PIN app. If you still do not use this application to access the Administration online, take a look at this article. After the Cl@ve PIN, you will have access to your procedures with the Treasury.
To see the processing status of your Treasury refund, you must click on Processing status. You will see your personal data, your file number, which Treasury office is in charge of your declaration and, most importantly, the Processing status. Optionally, you can also view the declaration.
As we saw before, the usual message is usually “is being processed”. The next step, “is being checked.” If the return has already been verified and everything is in order, you will see the message “it has been processed (…) estimating as the return”. Finally, if something goes wrong, you will see something like “pending incidents”. In that case, you must enter the tax return again and go to the section check to check that everything is correct. There you will see the possible incidents that prevent approving the declaration.
