OpenAI He has launched one of the options most anticipated by the public: a ChatGPT subscription for small workgroups. Is about ChatGPT Teama new plan intended for teams of up to 149 members that provides access to the latest technology developed by Sam Altman’s company.
ChatGPT Team should not be confused with the Enterprise version that was introduced last August. This variant is intended for corporations that employ hundreds or thousands of people, giving them all access to OpenAI’s chatbot and other artificial intelligence apps. The new subscription targets much more limited teams, such as those of a startup or SME.
All ChatGPT Team users will have access to GPT-4 with a 32K context window. Likewise, they may use GPT-4 with Visionthe variant that recognizes images as an input method, and DALL-E 3. The package includes tools for administrators, utilities for extracting and analyzing data, and a collaborative workspace in which members can interact with the chatbot.
But that is not all. The subscription will also allow create and share custom GPTs for different tasks. For example, to extract text and images from a PDF, analyze and correct code fragments, or create graphics or artistic materials from text, among many other options.
As is already happening with ChatGPT Enterprise, OpenAI promises respect privacy of users of the new variant. Therefore, it will not use conversations or other information uploaded to ChatGPT Team to train its artificial intelligence models.
OpenAI launches ChatGPT Team, a plan for small work groups
As we previously indicated, ChatGPT Team arrives to close a gap that was present in the world of small and medium-sized businesses. Let’s keep in mind that access to the Enterprise version of the chatbot requires a minimum of 150 users and is quite expensive.
The new plan for smaller work groups is presented as a very attractive alternative. Both for the quality of the tools to which it offers access, and for its price. ChatGPT Team costs $25 per month per user, in the event that the subscription is paid annually. For those who opt for monthly billing, the cost amounts to 30 dollars per user.
At first glance it may not seem too cheap, but keep in mind that ChatGPT Enterprise is much more expensive. The version for large companies is priced on a case-by-case basis, but costs up to $60 per month per user and requires a contract of no less than 12 months.
With the help of ChatGPT Team, OpenAI continues with its plan of expand monetization of its tools based on artificial intelligence. The company today also launched the long-awaited GPT Store, which allows access to customized versions of the chatbot created by ChatGPT Plus subscribers. The store was due to open last November, which was postponed due to the chaos following the firing and subsequent return of Sam Altman.
With the new small workgroup subscription, OpenAI has brought GPT-4 to virtually all ChatGPT variants. The only one that continues to use GPT-3.5 is the free version, available both on the web and through apps for iOS and Android.
