The Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) reported through his Twitter account that it has been restored electricity supply by 78% in the states of Colima, Nayarit, Michoacán and Jalisco, which were affected by Hurricane Nora.
Mexico has suffered the ravages of hurricanes recently. First it was in Yucatán and Veracruz, where Grace generated strong floods and a lack of electricity; now, Nora it hit states like Colima, Nayarit, Jalisco, Baja California and Michoacán.
Among the main effects that Nora brought with her is the lack of electricity supply caused by the accident. Due to this, thousands of families were affected and do not have the service in their homes.
Due to the situation, the CFE reported on the progress that had been achieved with the electrical restoration and published that the situation had been resolved by 78%.
The first state mentioned is Colima. According to data from the commission, they were 62,926 users affected by the lack of electricity supply and the service has been restored for the 96% of the citizen.
Others 126,990 People were affected in the state of Nayarit – being the one that had the greatest damage to the supply than those mentioned by the CFE. However, according to what has been written by the agency, the 83% of the supply in the territory.
In the case of Michoacán, the number of people without electricity is 15,333. Although of the four states named by the Federal Electricity Commission it is the one that was least affected by Nora, progress has only been made in restoring service to 67%.
For its part, Jalisco had a number of affected 58,998. According to the CFE, progress has been made in 51% the restoration of electricity in the state, becoming the region where work is slower.
The CFE updates in its official accounts the status of the restoration of the electricity service to the citizens affected by the passage of Nora and Grace. In addition to making known their work to avoid accidents derived from falling poles or infrastructure.
For fear of what might happen in the state of Baja California Sur with the arrival of Nora, crews of workers were sent from Mexicali that could support electrical installations and infrastructures with maintenance work.
In Grace’s case, they had to work uninterruptedly for five days so that the affected states could recover from the problems it brought with it the incident, which also affected regions of the Caribbean.
Carrying out the restoration of electricity supply in the affected areas has been made difficult by landslides, river flooding and fallen trees, which has caused the CFE to carry out complicated maneuvers, according to its official accounts.
These complications have caused the CFE to take even longer to restore services in the affected states, which is why thousands of Mexican families depend on expedited actions by the Commission to return to their daily lives.
The work of the CFE has been recognized even in the “morning” by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) mentioning that their work has not stopped during the contingency caused by the hurricanes.
