According to information from a report by The Washington Post, Activision Blizzard has sold more than 425 million games since its first appearance in 2003 until before the launch of Call of Duty Modern Warfare II, in 2022.
This in revenue translates into more than $30 billion. It should be remembered that the last game in the franchise had one of the most successful premieres in history, having been purchased by 30 million people on its opening weekend.
Regarding the number of users, the video game has more than 125 million players on the different platforms where it is available, such as PlayStation, Xbox and PC, while the Mobile version, which was launched in 2019, has more than 650 million users.
Throughout its history, a large number of studios have participated in its development and these are some of the most important: Activision Central Design, Beenox, Demonware, High Moon Studios, Infinity Ward, Raven Software, Sledgehammer Games, Solid State Studios , Team Ricochet, Toys for Bob and Treyarch, among others.

After Microsoft’s purchase of Activision Blizzard, the franchise will be added to more platforms, since to approve the transaction, Xbox committed to bringing the title to Sony consoles, but also Nintendo for the next 10 years.
On the other hand, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will go on sale this November 10, which continues the story immediately after the events of Modern Warfare II.
