One of the surprises of Google I/O 2022 was the brief appearance on the scene of the next Pixel 7 Y Pixel 7Pro. Although it cannot be considered an in-depth or very detailed presentation, the future smartphones of the Californian company were seen in some renders, with the promise of knowing a little more about them in the months to come. However, we already have what seems to be the first look in the real world for one of the new mobiles developed in Mountain View. Is that a prototype of the Pixel 7 has briefly appeared at an eBay auction.
The device was seen this Monday for a short period of time before being permanently removed. The auction was scheduled to end next Sunday and the product had already received offers, reaching up to 530 dollars. The user who posted the phone, meetveeru, appears as registered on the portal since November 2006, but with no other items sold; Only a handful of product reviews and comments to other sellers are displayed on your profile.
However, the leak of this apparent prototype of the Pixel 7 has thrown up a couple of interesting points. On the one hand, it ratifies the design lines that Google had already shown in its rendersincluding modifications to the camera module compared to the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, and Pixel 6a. On the other, it shows how the color variant would look obsidian in real life, being one of the three available when the device goes on sale (lemongrass and snow, the rest).
The Pixel 7 is seen in its first leak
It is true that, at first glance, the photographs that accompanied the auction did not reveal anything too extraordinary. Yes, you could see the Pixel 7 turned on, as well as a general panning of its appearance, but not much else. However, digging into the images a little deeper revealed some details that may have led to the removal of the post.
Photos showing the rear of the Pixel 7 reveal two things. One that photos were taken with a prototype of the Pixel 7 Pro; This is easily identified because the device used is reflected in the shadow of the back cover of the smartphone, and the unmistakable camera module that said mobile will have is clearly visible.
The other, that the unique code that Google has incorporated into the device to identify it has also been leaked. This is also seen at the rear, by way of a figure made up of several lines. The following image clearly shows it.
For now it is impossible to know if this has been a leak orchestrated from within Google itself; or if any of your employees have wanted to play smart and it has gone wrong. The truth is that the aesthetics of the apparent prototype of the Pixel 7 agrees with what those from Mountain View have shown through the official channel. We’ll see if this leads to more news appearing as the weeks go by.
