Generally everything associated with the gaming world has a high cost associated with it. And it is normal: they are equipment and peripherals that must withstand a lot of demands during games, both in terms of power and long hours of use. However, today we bring a very interesting mini gaming PC, it is signed by the NiPoGi brand and Its price is a little less than 500 euros.
Mini PCs are perfect for everyone those people who do not have all the space they would like, or who travel often and need to be able to play with something more powerful than a laptop. In the case of the NiPoGI AM08PRO, the unit that has come to us at Hipertextual, meets most of what gamers need.
Unboxing and design
We open the box containing the NiPoGi AM08PRO. Inside we see the mini gaming PC, which can be placed vertically, the network cable with transformer and an HDMI cable to connect it to the monitor. When we talk about mini PC we are talking about dimensions of only 13.29 wide x 15.61 high x 7.2 cm thick, with a weight of 390 grams so we will not have any problem transporting it from one place to another.
If we take a look at its exterior appearance, it has the typical RGB LEDs of gaming equipment. In addition, at the top there is a roulette wheel that will allow us to select between three performance modes: the silent one, if for example it is playing a movie, the automatic one to work normally, and finally the performance one, where the equipment is used at the same time. maximum for demanding processes.
Within its design we can also see how one of the two side covers can be removed, in a very simple way thanks to a system of magnets. It gives the option to expand the SSD, up to 2 TB, and the RAM, up to 64 GB.
Main components: processor, graphics card, RAM…
As the heart and main part of the team, NiPoGi has trusted the AMD Ryzen 7 7735 HS eight-core 6-nanometer processor and with a speed of up to 4.75 GHz, perfect for delivering the necessary power at all times.
Regarding the graphics card, the one chosen has been the Radeon 680 M, a card integrated into the processor with an RDNA 2.0 architecture, very similar, for example, to the RX 6000. In terms of performance, it offers a total of 768 Stream Processors and 12 Ray Accelerators which, although it is not the best on the market, for the price of the equipment it is understandable.
Now let’s go to RAM. The NiPoGi AM08 PRO mini gaming PC is sold in several versions, with the 32GB version being the highest and most recommended. Specific mounts two units of 16GB each, DDR5 at 4,800MHz. As we have indicated previously, it offers the possibility of expanding externally.
Finally, in the ventilation part, the mini PC incorporates a system of two fans that ensure that the equipment is cooled at all times and prevents it from overheating.
Three modes of operation
The NiPoGi mini PC is not just for playing, it is a very versatile piece of equipment for all members of the house, depending on the use we want to give it. For example, if we put the Silent mode while watching a movie, it reduces power consumption to 20-30W as well as noise, reducing it to 35dB. This way the noise of the fan will not constantly take us out of the movie.
He Automatic mode It is perfect for office use or while we work. It uses a power of 30-40W and about 38 dB of noise.
Lastly, the Performance mode It is the most powerful of all, where the team’s components are made the most of. Here the equipment boosts its performance even more and of course, consumption and noise is higher, reaching almost 50 dB and between 40 and 44W of power. However, this is only necessary at times when we are playing video games that occasionally require more power.
Ports and connectivity
The last section refers to ports and connectivity. If we start with the last one, the NiPoGi mini PC is compatible with WiFi 6 technology (802.11ax, dual band 2.4/5GHz, update speed of 9.6 Gbps) which guarantees ultra-fast download speeds. As for Bluetooth, it also supports Bluetooth 5.2.
The connection ports are located on both sides of the device. On the front we have a 3.5 mm audio output, two USB 3.2 ports and a USB C port compatible with 4K and 60Hz.
In the back we have others two USB 3.2 ports, two HDMI 2.0, an ethernet output and the network port. The truth is, quite well equipped for the needs of any gamer.
