Yesterday a report emerged in which it was mentioned that some developers had a devkit of the Switch capable of running 4K games. Not only has Nintendo denied this information, but Zynga, one of the companies mentioned in the initial investigation, also denies that this hardware exists..
Following the original Bloomberg report, which mentions that several companies have in their possession Nintendo Switch development kits with 4K support, Zynga, who was mentioned in this investigation, shared a message to Kotaku, where they clarify that this information is false. This is what they commented:
To clarify, Zynga does not have a 4K development kit from Nintendo. As the Switch developer for the upcoming Star Wars: Hunters game, which Zynga announced in a recent Nintendo Direct, we can confirm that none of the developer kits that Zynga has or is receiving are 4K developer kits. “
Without a doubt, this may sound disappointing to many people, who hope that we will eventually see a Nintendo Switch with greater power. Similarly, the Bloomberg report mentions 11 studies, but only Zynga has responded to these rumors. Considering that the OLED Switch is a few days away, it is very likely that the Japanese company will not decide to announce a revision of this hardware, at least for the remainder of the year.
