Realme has launched the Realme GT2 and GT2 Pro in Spain, two new high-end smartphones that come with outstanding features. Among them, Snapdragon chip, cameras with up to 50 megapixel resolution or 120 Hz screens. The most interesting version is, without a doubt, the Realme GT2 Pro. Its prices, however, are not as attractive as the models that the company has been marketing in Spain since its arrival on the European market in 2019, but it has an explanation.
The Realme GT2 Pro hits the market European with a processor Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, the latest SoC from the American manufacturer that stands out for its power and high performance. It includes, on the other hand, a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen, as well as a 5,000 mAh battery, It also has a triple camera of up to 50 megapixels with a super panoramic sensor. They are specifications similar to those found in terminals like the Oppo Find X5. In addition, and as usual, Realme has opted for two variants of RAM and storage. On the one hand, we find a version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. On the other, a version of 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Their prices are as follows.
- Realme GT2 Pro with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of memory: €749.99.
- Realme GT2 Pro with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of memory: €849.99.
These are prices that we have never seen in the catalog of the Asian manufacturer. In fact, if we take a look at the smartphone line that the company currently markets in Spain, we see that none of them exceeds the threshold of 500 euros. The most expensive version available so far is the Realme X3 SuperZoom, priced at €499 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage option. But the price of the new Realme model even exceeds that of the discontinued X50 Pro 5G, which hit the market for around 600 euros.
What justifies the high price of the new Realme GT2 Pro?
Now, why does it go on sale at such a high price if the new Realme GT2 Pro has similar specifications to the rest of the brand’s smartphones? Unlike terminals like the Realme GT or the Realme 9 Pro+, which stand out in a specific area (performance and camera, respectively), the Realme GT 2 Pro offers first-rate specifications in all its sections. From the screen, through the performance, the camera and also the autonomy. It is in a higher range than last year’s Realme GT was positioned.
In addition, it has some extras that the other brand mobiles do not include. And not only do they outperform the rest of the phones in their catalog at the level of specifications, the results they offer in each of these points are considerably better. The Realme GT 2 Pro, therefore, it is a high-end smartphoneand not mid-range, like the rest of the members.
We must also take into account that it is the first time that the company has launched a high-end model in Europe. Hence the prices may surprise. And it is that the Realme GT 2 Pro does not arrive to compete against the 400 or 500 euro models from manufacturers such as Xiaomi or Samsung. Instead, they do to battle against the flagships of its competition.
The Realme GT2 Pro competes head to head with the Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22+. Also with the Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, or with the Xiaomi Mi 12 Pro. All this, in addition, with a more attractive price than some of the mentioned models. The Samsung Galaxy S22, for example, is available from 859 euros. That is, about 110 euros more than the Realme GT2. It may, however, not offer the same results in some of the different areas. Or, that they include some extra features, such as wireless charging, a feature that Realme’s GT 2 Pro lacks.
