Xiaomi starts the year strong. The Asian brand presented this Thursday the new Poco X6 series, made up of two models: a standard one and a more advanced one named Poco They have many options to become the default recommendation in 2024.
These phones are based on the Redmi K70 series that Xiaomi presented in its local country at the end of 2023. The Poco X6 Pro is identical to the Redmi K70E –except for some minor differences, such as loading speed–. And the same can be said of the standard Poco X6, although in its case there is an additional variation: the processor. While the Redmi K70E and the Poco X6 Pro share the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultrathe standard X6 opts for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2a chip with lower performance than the aforementioned MediaTek model.
This variation in the chip also influences aspects such as Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connectivity. While the Poco X6 Pro is compatible with the Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 6 standard, the Poco people who are interested in this product.
Another difference between the Poco X6 and the Poco X6 Pro is the battery. Curiously, The standard model has 100 mAh more capacity than the Pro. However, it is important to keep two things in mind:
- First of all, 100 mAh barely makes a difference considering the overall size of the battery.
- Secondly, just because the Poco X6 has a slightly larger battery than the Pro model does not mean that it has slightly greater autonomy. The difference in processor can tip the balance more than those 100 mAh capacity, so it will be necessary to run tests that are as objective as possible to find which of the two performs better in this regard.

An excellent product in relation to its price
This new series, and especially the Poco X6 Pro, are probably the mobiles with the best quality-price ratio in their segment. Especially the Pro model, whose processor makes the difference compared to other devices in this price range.
Its weakest point is photography, where it meets what is expected from its range but fails to fascinate – as happens, for example, with Google’s Pixel 7a. In everything else, however, it is a clear reference. To list some of his virtues:
- It offers fantastic performance thanks to the MediaTek 8300 Ultra, a SoC that is close in several metrics to the reference chip of 2023 in the Android world: the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
- It has a high-capacity battery along with a fast 67W charging system.
- It has abundant connectivity.
- Its screen stands out for its reduced frames, but also for its extra resolution and the ability to raise its brightness significantly in adverse lighting conditions.
- It has interesting details such as the fingerprint reader under the screen, NFC connectivity or the infrared sensor.
- And, most importantly: it arrives in stores with a very reasonable price of 349 euros without promotions.
It is also important to take into account that The prices of Xiaomi products – like those of other brands – experience progressive price drops as the months go by. Therefore, if this Poco X6 Pro is not an exception to this pattern, it is likely that in a short time we will see it at an even more competitive price.
The same can be said of the standard Poco X6, which shares the bulk of features with the Pro model. However, if you allow me the advice, It is worth investing the additional 50 euros in purchasing the top model. The improvement in performance provided by the MediaTek chip justifies it both in the short and long term.
