It’s no secret that the cloud gaming is an important element for microsoftand xCloud is proof of it. Now the signature of Redmond is one hundred percent committed to developing this technology since they have already officially announced a division of the Xbox Game Studios which will be in charge of working on this section and not only that, but it will also be led by an important developer.
This news was confirmed by Kim Swiftone of the main designers of Portalwho will be in charge of heading this new division. Swift shared the news during Game Developers Conferencewhere he mentioned that this group “will partner with world-class developers to develop Cloud Native Games to bring unprecedented experiences to players that are only possible with Cloud Technology.”
Specifically, the team Swift will be in charge of developing cloud-native games, instead of focusing on games that can simply be run via streaming. Apparently, this new initiative will work independently from the rest of the xbox game studios, and at the moment, we don’t know if they already have any developers working on these types of games.
Publisher’s note: With this, Microsoft reinforces its commitment to cloud gaming, something that certainly fits with the company’s vision. Let’s remember that beyond selling consoles, Xbox wants to offer its users the possibility of playing how they want and where they want, so it makes perfect sense that now they are going to dedicate more resources to cloud technology.
