Are you late to travel this summer and the price of plane tickets is making you bitter? Do not worry, or not too much, you are one of the 55% of Spaniards who have not yet bought their tickets despite intending to go on vacation.
The reality is that, as summer approaches, the price of tickets increases because the planes fill up and, above all, certain destinations become impossible. The Caribbean, neighboring countries and those already prohibitive destinations in Southeast Asiain the highest figures of the last decade, make traveling an almost unaffordable luxury.
Even so, for short and medium range flights, there are options to save with the airline tickets you want to buy. even if the bull is catching you. Obviously, these are not miracle solutions in which you find cheap tickets, but they can save you a few euros.
The solutions are also useful for other type of transport such as trains or shipsbut the truth is that it is in the planes where there are many more frequencies and many more options to ensure that our summer does not turn out a little cheaper.
especially if we make long trips or travel with children and we have to save as much as possible so that buying tickets for three or four people is not so expensive. The advantage is that these two tricks are very basic and are within the reach of practically anyone. The first thing we should do is try to find flights on Saturday.
Yes, we know that it is a day that generally people use to have a little fuss and distract themselves, but it is also a day where there are many flights and in which the majority of people (for those aforementioned reasons) refuse to travel.
Whenever possible, traveling on a Saturday (if you can afford it) can save you between 20% and 30% of the regular ticket pricewhich is not bad if you can treat yourself and lose a Saturday.
The other solution, especially now that Spain is beginning to be better connected with more affordable long-distance trainsis to go through airports that may be cheaper than our home airport.
In Spain there are many airports that have low-cost lines towards more or less holiday destinations during the summer. In the same sense, cities like Barcelona, Madrid, Seville and Valencia are beginning to be well connected with cheap long distances that can make it easier for us to make the leap to some airports with a much cheaper ticket.
Also it happens without resorting to the train. For example, domestic flights from Seville airport are cheaper than international flights, where Malaga or Jerez are more competitive. In the Basque case, for example, it may be more profitable to fly to certain European destinations from Bilbao than from San Sebastián airport.

A reality that is also worth discovering if we are in the Balearic Islands, where some destinations may be more greedy if we travel from Mallorca than from Ibiza —and vice versa— or in the case of the Valencian Community, where there are more interesting flights from Valencia or from Alicante depending on the destination.
