Despite having 64 different varieties of chili peppers, that did not allow the historical culinary tradition of Mexico to become the country with the spiciest food in the worldsince an Asian nation snatched the first place in the world ranking.
To the surprise of many, It is China that holds first place when it comes to spicy food, thanks to dishes like mapu tofu, cooked with minced meat, tofu, fermented beans, garlic and Sichuan peppera very spicy condiment for which the capital province of Chengdu is known.
Second place belongs to Mexico, thanks to the great variety of chiles that can be found and the creativity with which they make them part of their dishes: from sauces that accompany traditional tacos, even in powder to accompany it with seasonal fruits or cooked vegetables.
After Mexico on the list, countries follow like Türkiye and Indiawhich we are not too surprised to see appear in this ranking, since both have a long history in terms of species, so it is reasonable that spicy food is also part of their national gastronomy.
