Amazon has announced the renewal of its range of dongles for the TV and it does so with a device that offers a design with slight touches on the outside and in which all the potential is hidden inside, now offering more power and better performance. This is the Fire TV Stick 4K Max.
A device that connects directly to the HDMI port of the TV and to the electrical outlet and that can be connected via Alexa and voice controls or with a renewed remote control, now with a more current look and smoother shapes. A model that now supports WiFi 6, Dolby Atmos audio, HDR10 +, and Dolby Vision.
If something works, don’t change it … a lot
The Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max is a new dongle, inside, because outside Amazon maintains the idea of an easily transportable device that connects to HDMI from the TV. In this sense, nothing changes compared to previous models.
Where there are design changes is in the remote control, now more attractive, among other reasons for the adoption of slightly curved shapes that give it a more modern and current appearance.
But where we are going to find all the changes is in the interior hardware. The Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max is, according to Amazon, 40% more powerful than Fire TV Stick 4K that until now we have been getting to know. An improvement provided by the 1.8 GHz quad-core processor, a Mediatek MT7921LS chip and support for 2 GB of RAM.
With this set it is achieved on the one hand that the applications start faster and the navigation is more fluid and that also, this Fire TV Stick 4K Max becomes the first Fire TV Stick to support WiFi 6, a connection that allows the playback of 4K streaming content to be more stable even with multiple devices connected to the same network. An interesting advantage that, yes, you will need a router compatible with WiFi 6 at home.
The new Fire TV Stick 4K Max is supports streaming in Ultra HD 4K, with HDR10 + formats, as well as Dolby Vision. You can also take advantage of Dolby Atmos object-based audio if we have compatible audio equipment.
Alexa is present again, through a direct control button on the remote, so that we can interact through voice controls. A remote that also has four default buttons to access applications such as Netflix, Disney +, Prime Video and Prime Music. You can also control the power on, off and the volume of your television, as well as the sound bar, without the need for another remote control.
As in other Fire TV Stick models, the new Stick 4K Max gives access to thousands of apps, Alexa Skills and channels, as well as streaming video applications (Netflix, Apple TV +, YouTube, Prime Video, Disney +, DAZN …) or music streaming service (Amazon Music, Spotify and Apple Music).
