Some Twitter users suggested going to other networks like Reddit and there were even those who demonstrated to revive the old MySpace. Millions of users do not sympathize with the richest man in the world and the idea that he imposes his ideas about “improving” Twitter on the march.
But those most displeased with the imminent arrival of Elon Musk are the employees, who would not want to work for an employer who is openly against the union organization of its companies.
Another reason not to want Musk is that, until now, Twitter workers receive stock as part of their compensation. Elon Musk intends to take Twitter private, thereby delisting him from the stock market and thus escaping special regulation watched over by the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Consequently, employees do not know what will happen to their shares.
bye bye twitter
For these reasons, as soon as it became public that Twitter had accepted Elon Musk’s offer to acquire the company for $44 billion, various employees began tweeting that it was time to leave Twitter.
Others urged unionizing before it was too late. An employee put it more clearly when New York Times: “I feel like I’m going to throw up… I really don’t want to work at a company that is owned by Elon Musk.”
