With the premiere of Eternals, Chloe Zhao anticipates that fans will understand why they did not intervene at the time of the extermination of half the Universe at the hands of Thanos.
In a matter of weeks, the Marvel Cinematic Universe will receive a civilization that operates from the beginning of life itself on planet earth, the Eternals, by Chloe Zhao, who would have stopped Thanos’ plans without problems, something that obviously did not happen.
Do not miss: great emotions are lived in the final trailer of Eternals!
The director of Eternals, Chloe Zhao, explained in an interview for Total Film that once people see the first Eternals feature film they will finally understand why this team of powerful beings could not stop the Thanos snap that ended for five years with half of existence in the entire universe.
“The audience will understand why, and not just why, but how complicated it made them feel not to interfere. We explore that. You will see it in the movie. The Eternals were instructed not to interfere with any human conflict unless the Deviants are involved. There is a reason that is the case. And that was the instruction of the Celestial head, Arshem“.
The land before humanity in the MCU
The filmmaker mentioned that Eternals will take a look back at the beginning of time, before humanity became the dominant species on the planet.
“What got me excited is the idea of going back in time and exploring [el tiempo] before Thanos was born, before anyone was born … Where does the MCU go back in time? And that brings us to the mythology of the Celestials. Anything involving Celestials is going to be at a full scale complication level, let’s put it that way”.
Eternals introduces an exciting new team of superheroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ancient aliens who have been living on Earth in secret for thousands of years. After the events of Avengers: Endgame, an unexpected tragedy forces them to leave the shadows to rally against humanity’s oldest enemy, The Deviants.
The Eternals features a cast of Richard Madden as Ikaris, Angelina Jolie as Thena, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Kit Harrington as Black Knight and Don Lee as Gilgamesh.
Under the direction of new Oscar winner Chloe Zhao, Eternals is scheduled to hit the big screen on November 5, 2021.
