The sixth episode of The Boba Fett Book is full of appearances by important characters. Some could well be qualified as fan service, some others necessary to give depth to the main character. Others are there to lay the foundations for some story arcs that we will see in future seasons of Mandalorian and new series within the Star Wars Universe. But who is Cad Bane?
It was one of the most interesting appearances—and certainly one of the scariest—during the episode. This is the character that reminds Judgment, played by Lee Van Cleef in the good, the bad and the uglywho faces Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant) in Free City.
Cad Bane is not a new character in the Star Wars universe, he has a lot of history, not only with boba fettalso with Anakin Skywalker. His first appearance was in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and is created by Dave Filoni, who is also an executive producer on the series and co-writer of the sixth episode.
Cad Bane: Boba Fett’s Master
Cad Bane debuts in The clone Wars being a bounty hunter, with a reputation that caught the attention of the Count Dooku Y Darth Sidious. meet boba fett after being hired by Jabba the Hutt to break Siro the Hutt out of a prison on Coruscant.
Bane and Boba Fett connect, the first ends up being the second’s teacher and showing him all his skills as a bounty hunter. It is thus that he acquires his fearsome reputation as his career progresses.
At some point they separate but Cad Bane remains active during the formation of the Galactic Empire as a bounty hunter alongside an android named all 360. She even gets to have a confrontation with Fennec Shand, who in during the events of the second season of MandalorianHe allies himself with Boba Fett.
Cad Bane now work with him Pyke Syndicate on Tatooine, and we see him acting as his emissary, trying to bribe Cobb Vanth into simply not making alliances with Boba Fett in the inevitable showdown that we will see in the seventh episode of the series.
Everything indicates that we will see a new fight between master and apprentice, Cad Bane versus Boba Fett in the series finale. A parallel to one of the classic dilemmas of the Star Wars universe. Obi-Wan Kenobi versus Anakin Skywalker or Darth Vader versus Luke Skywalker.
