WhatsApp seems to have found a way for those users who want to leave a group to do so silently. But, in turn, both the participants and the administrators of the same, know that they have gone. The app, as revealed by the portal wabetainfo, will allow you to check which members have been part of that group conversation before. It will do so through a new option that will appear on the information page that is included in the chat.
At the moment, the possibility of seeing who has been part of a group is available in the WhatsApp betas for iOS and Android, but it is likely to reach the final version in the coming weeks. It is also complemented by the new function of the groups, which consists of being able to leave a chat silently. That is, without a notice appearing in the conversation. The possibility of seeing who has been part of a group before, in particular, is found on the WhatsApp group information page, right in the participants section. There, a new button will appear called ‘View previous participants’. By pressing, you will be able to see a list with the contacts that have previously been in that chat, but have left.
The aforementioned portal, yes, ensures that the list will only include those contacts who have left the group before 60 days. After that period of time, the user will not appear in the list. This option is also available to all the people who are part of that WhatsApp group, not just the administrators. On the other hand, only administrators will be able to see who has left the group through a notice that will appear between the conversations.
WhatsApp is also working on new features that could come soon
WhatsApp is also working on new features that go beyond groups, and that, like the possibility of seeing who has left a group chat, could reach all users in the coming weeks. One of these new features is the ability to edit messages already sent. This will allow, therefore, to correct typos, misspellings, or reformulate the message so that, for example, it is not misunderstood. It is also complemented by the possibility of deleting messages that have already been sent, an option that is currently available.
WhatsApp also works in a ‘private mode’ that will allow prevent other contacts from knowing that a user is currently online. The app, let’s remember, currently shows if a user is online, even if they don’t have the person added to their contact list.
