Although most of June is still spring, the truth is that for garden purposes we are already in summer.
The heat is pressing, so it is very important that we have controlled irrigation from our orchard, either manually or automatically (something decisive if we don’t have the orchard close to home). June is also the month in which the most common pests appear, which we will have to control.
If we have planted the summer vegetables in April, it is possible that during this month we can begin to collect some tomatoes or peppers, but the usual thing is that we still collect the spring vegetables: onions, strawberries, chickpeas, peas, broad beans, potatoes, artichokes and Swiss chard.
What to plant and plant in June
Ideally, you should have planted most of the plants in May. summer vegetables but, if you have arrived late or want to scale the crops, some can still be planted in June solanaceae and cucurbits. If you want to have melons, watermelons and pumpkins you should have planted them in May, but if you haven’t, proceed as soon as possible.
These are the vegetables that can still be planted on these dates:

Other garden tasks to do in June
June is a month already full of weeds and insects, that we must control. As a preventive measure, it is interesting to apply garlic and horsetail infusions to our plants, but it is likely that we have specific pests that we will have to specifically deal with.
As it happens throughout the summer, it is important weeding of all the plants that do not interest us in the garden, a task that ideally we should do at least a couple of times a week.

During these dates we will have the last beans and peas, and it will be time to tutor and prune the tomatoes, as well as put a net on the cucumbers so that they grow properly.
With the arrival of the heat we must also water more often.
